Research revealed that there are 500 solar systems in our Milky Way galaxy and one of them is our solar system which has a hot ball sun and eight revolving planets. Sun falls into the category of stars that host revolving planets which have an abundance of 15%.
The universe is colonized with thousands of different gigantic heavenly bodies that are busy in their movements in outer deep space which follows their own formations and orbits.
The solar system came into being 4.5 billion years ago when the interstellar cloud of gases and dust collapse resulting Nebula which is a swirling material responsible for the formation of the Solar system.
Categories of Revolving Planets Inside Solar System:
The number of planets inside the solar system is eight which are divided into two categories
Terrestrial planets belong to the inner most planets which are four in number
These planets are normally dissimilar in properties than outer most one surrounded by a belt of an asteroid which is a large group of floating rocks. They are made of rocky materials having a rigid surface, relatively small in size as compare to the outer planets and don’t have rings.
Jovian planets is another family in the solar system that’s also four in numbers which are
These planets are distinct in properties than the terrestrial group having multiple moons, supporting ring system, have no solid surface and immense in size as compare to terrestrial planets. Jovian planets again divided into two categories
- Gas giants
- Ice giants
Gas giants consist of two planets Jupiter and Saturn which are mostly composed of gases like Helium and hydrogen they belong to system and relatively big as compare to inner planets in the heliocentric system and lies outside the Asteroid belt.
Ice giants are grouped by the combination of two planets Uranus and Neptune which lies in the outer most orbits of the solar system and relatively huge as compare to the other planets in the solar system.
They are composed of ice, a mixture of water, methane, and ammonia. Due to its position away from the sun, these planets have an extremely low temperature which makes it unsustainable for life.
EARTH: The only Life Sustainable Planet in Solar System:
The reason for sustainability of life on earth is the presence of water and its exact position from the sun because for acquiring life you need some kind of liquid for making a place suitable for life. Secondly energy is also an important thing for life and definitely, earth acquires much energy.
Other reasons that researchers have trotted out for why the earth is the presence of a magnetic field that protects us from radiations of sun and other stars and a lot more reasons which make earth unique inside the solar system.
