What would it look like if the planets were as close as the moon?

If planets were as close as the moon to the earth. Or If the moon were replaced with some of our solar system planets like Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Uranus. How would they look like?
In this article, we will show you, what the planets of the Solar System would look like from Earth if they were the same distance as the Moon, some 386,000 kilometers.
The former director of art at NASA, Ron Miller, created a series of images in which he visualized how all the neighboring planets of the Solar System would be seen from Earth if they were exactly the same distance as the Moon.
Space never stops fascinating us. His exploration and how we imagine it is a permanent source of amazement. That’s why NASA has a robust art department that produces extraordinary illustrations that give us an idea of what their findings mean and give a unique touch to all the science that surrounds them.
Ron Miller was one of the pioneers of this expression of art in the US Space Agency and his illustrations were published by internationally prestigious media, as well as being recognized for their realism and precision. One of his most famous works was this series of images in which he projects what the planets of the Solar System would look like from Earth If planets were as close as the moon, some 386,000 kilometers.

Miller raises it from a postcard taken in the Death Valley of California during a completely clear night of Full Moon. This is the original image that references service with our satellite at its maximum splendor.

After doing the necessary calculations and went to work to place our other neighboring planets in the same position. The collection of images turned out to be simply overwhelming and fascinating. The results are varied, for example, in the case of Jupiter we would not even see the whole planet because of its enormous size, almost 12 times higher than Earth’s. While Saturn’s rings would cover the entire horizon.
“One morning, I had the brilliant idea to create a series of illustrations in which the Moon was replaced by other planets, something that I think was not done before. I wanted the illustrations to be thought-provoking and capture the imagination of the people.” Miller said of his work. Well, mission accomplished, sir! Enjoy them.
